20th Century Fox President: Avatar 2 is still scheduled to be released this year

More than ten years have passed since "Avatar" was released in 2009, but the sequel "Avatar 2" has been postponed many times due to production and epidemic reasons. However, it seems that "Avatar 2" will still be released this year.

In an interview with THR, 20th Century Fox President Steve Asbell was asked if Avatar 2 will be released in theaters this year. Asbell responded, "Yes, it will, and it's a movie that will surprise audiences, and audiences are not ready for what director Cameron is doing."

"Avatar 1" is the highest-grossing movie in the world ($2.8 billion). The sequel "Avatar 2" is set 14 years after the previous film. It was originally scheduled to be released in December 2014, but was later postponed several times until this year's release date.

"Avatar 2" will be released on December 16, 2022, "Avatar 3" will be released on December 20, 2023, "Avatar 4" will be released on December 18, 2026, and "Avatar 5" will be released on December 22, 2028.
