Director Hwang Dong Hyuk is currently in talks with Netflix for the second and third seasons of Squid!, which became one of Netflix's most-watched movies after its release in September. "I am in talks with Netflix for season 2 and 3 and we will get the results soon," Hwang Dong Hyuk told South Korean broadcaster KBS. A second season might have been expected, but this is the first time Hwang has spoken about what a third season might look like. Last month, Hwang was in talks with Netflix about a second season and said it was currently in the planning stages. Apparently, those discussions were enough for Netflix to consider a third season. Hwang Dong Hyuk added, “We know everyone is waiting (for the next season), so we all try to think positively about the creation of the next season.” In addition, Hwang Dong Hyuk also confirmed that the second season will start with the male protagonist Sung Ki Hoon, and the overall narrative will be centered on the people Sung Ki Hoon meets and the people he will chase. |
