The reboot of the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, was released on November 24, but according to some ratings websites in Europe and the United States, the film did not perform very well. IMDb scored 5.7 points, and Rotten Tomatoes was only 28%. Most film critics thought that the film did a good job in restoring the visual effects of the game, but also pointed out that the film's plot lacked coherence, the actors' characterization was problematic, and the bloody, violent and horror elements were not enough.
