Today (October 13), American toy giant Hasbro announced that the company's chairman and CEO Brian Goldner died of prostate cancer at the age of 58. According to film and television media Vanity Fair, Goldner was diagnosed with the disease as early as 2014. He did not release his resignation statement until the weekend of last week. He said: "After careful consideration, I have decided to take sick leave to deal with my health issues. I have full confidence in the company's appointment of Rich Stoddart as interim CEO. He has extensive management experience in our industry's best management team and employees." Goldner joined Hasbro in 2000 and made an indelible contribution to Hasbro's entry into the film industry. He has served as the producer of many famous IP films such as "Transformers", "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", and "My Little Pony: The Movie". Rich Stoddart, interim CEO of Hasbro, said: "Brian has been the heart and soul of Hasbro for more than two decades. As a charismatic and passionate leader in the games and entertainment industries, Brian's work has brought laughter to children and families around the world. His visionary leadership, kindness and generosity made him beloved by the Hasbro community and everyone who came into contact with him. On behalf of all Hasbro employees, we express our deepest condolences to his wife, daughter and entire family." |
