Netflix's new animation "ONI" first released stills and the screenwriter was confirmed to be Mari Okada

Netflix's original animation "ONI", which was launched in 2019 and is currently in active production, released its first stills on the 16th, and announced that Mari Okada will be invited to serve as the screenwriter. Stay tuned.

The origin of "ONI" is "ghost" in Japanese. The story is set in the Japanese mythological era when ghosts and monsters are rampant. The free-spirited girl ONARI admires the heroic deeds of the great heroes in the legend and is determined to become the next generation of heroes and trains hard every day. One day, the terrible "ONI" attacks. Can the girl and the villagers survive safely?

Mari Okada is a Japanese female screenwriter, series composition, animation director, and member of the Japan Scriptwriters Association. She made her debut in 1996 by writing video movie scripts, and later focused on writing scripts for TV animations and animated films. Her representative works include "True Tears", "Toradora!", "We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day.", "The Heart Cries Out.", and "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans".
