The Netflix animated series "Magic: The Gathering", based on the famous card game Magic: The Gathering, has announced its cast: "Superman" Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") will voice the heroic Planeswalker character Gideon. The series was created by Jeff Klein ("Transformers: Prime"), with toy manufacturers Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast also participating, and will premiere in the second half of 2022.

Previously, Netflix announced that it would work with the Russo brothers (directors of "Avengers 3" and "Avengers 4") to create this animated series, but the Russo brothers have now withdrawn from the production team.
