Game of Thrones star explains why Jon Snow spinoff was canceled: Not exciting enough

Although it has been several years since the TV series "Game of Thrones" ended, the series' spin-offs are still being developed. Recently, Kit Harington, the main actor of "Game of Thrones" who plays Jon Snow, revealed the reason why the Jon Snow spin-off was canceled in an interview with GQ.

"We spent a couple of years developing it over and over again. But there was nothing that we were excited about," Kit Harington said. "Finally, I kind of backed off and said, 'I think if we keep pushing forward and developing it, we're going to end up with something bad.' That's the last thing we want to see."

As one of the original spin-off series projects of "Game of Thrones", this spin-off series focusing on the core character Jon Snow was first announced in 2022. It will continue the story of "Game of Thrones". Kit Harington explained: "I think there may be an interesting and important story for soldiers after the war."

However, the show was eventually abandoned, but it may not be a huge loss for Kit Harington, because playing Jon Snow has occupied most of his life. He also added: "In a way, you need to completely break away from the past role, and we are only a few years away from it. This role will always be such an important factor in my life. It is probably the biggest and most important job I have ever done."
