Today (August 10), a new trailer for "The Lion King: The Legend of Mufasa" was released. It will be released in the United States on December 20. It is directed by Barry Jenkins, and the previous screenwriter Jeff Nathanson returns to write the script. Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, and Nicholas Britt compose the music, and Lin-Manuel Miranda creates original new songs. Promotional video: The story follows Rafiki as he tells the legend of Mufasa to Kiara, the little lion cub who is Simba and Nala's daughter, with signature gags from Pumbaa and Timon. The story unfolds in flashbacks, beginning with Mufasa's childhood as an orphan, lost and alone, until he meets Taka, a compassionate lion and heir to a royal bloodline.
