Story summary:

"In the past, when monsters emerged from the Pacific Rim, there were giant Jaegers built to fight them off. But good times don't last forever, and now Australia is being ravaged by monsters, forcing the entire continent to evacuate. Tyler and Hayley, a young brother and sister, are unfortunately lost. In a desperate search for their missing parents, they learn to control a long-abandoned, shabby Jaeger, and thus have hope of overcoming the difficulties before them and fighting their way out."

Pacific Rim: The Black continues the worldview of the opening structure of Pacific Rim in 2013: In 2013, a cosmic portal called "The Breach" appeared in the depths of the Pacific Ocean, and a large group of alien monsters called "Kaiju" emerged, destroying major cities in the Pacific Rim region one after another, causing heavy casualties and losses to humans. In order to compete with the monsters, the world cooperated to develop the "Jaeger": a huge armed robot that fights against the monsters, which is synchronously operated by two "Drifting" operators whose brain neural networks are connected to each other, turning the battle between humans and monsters into a protracted war...
