Universal Pictures plans to reboot Van Helsing with James Wan as producer

According to foreign media Deadline, Universal Pictures plans to create an original horror thriller set in the "Van Helsing" universe, directed by Julius Avery ("Overlord", "Son of a Gun") and produced by James Wan.

Eric Pearson (Thor 3, Black Widow, Godzilla vs. Kong) wrote the original script, Avery is revising it, the plot is unknown, and how the character of Van Helsing will be used is yet to be determined.

In 2004, Universal released the movie "Van Helsing" starring Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale and Richard Roxburgh. It tells the story of vampire hunter Van Helsing and huntress Anna fighting against Dracula and his evil forces. However, the reputation and box office did not meet expectations.
