The first trailer of John Woo's American version of "The Killer" was released. The film will be released on the streaming media Peacock on August 23. Chow Yun-fat's killer Xiao Zhuang will be played by Nathalie Emmanuel ("Game of Thrones", "Fast & Furious 7"). Danny Lee's police role will be played by Omar Sy, the male lead of the French version of "The Intouchables". This is also another new Hollywood action film by John Woo after "Silent Night" (2023).

From the producers of the Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer comes this action-packed thriller starring Emmy nominee Nathalie Emmanuel as Zee, a mysterious and notorious assassin known and feared in the Parisian underworld by the nickname "The Queen of Death."

However, during a mission commissioned by her mysterious mentor and contact (Sam Worthington of Avatar), Zee refuses to kill a blind young woman in a Paris nightclub. This decision will unravel Zee's alliances, attract the attention of a savvy police detective (Golden Globe nominee Omar Sy), and thrust her into a sinister criminal conspiracy that forces her to confront her past.

The old version of "Hard Boiled" was released in 1989, starring Chow Yun-fat, Danny Lee, Sally Yeh and Zhu Jiang. It tells the story of a killer who accidentally injured a singer and caused her blindness while on a mission. In order to raise money for her treatment, he took on another mission, but unexpectedly his employer betrayed him. On the way to being chased, he met a detective who was ordered to investigate. The two of them sympathized with each other and formed an alliance to fight against the gang.
