Pixar's Inside Out 2 is a huge success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide

According to foreign media Variety, Pixar's "Inside Out 2" has become the first movie to break $1 billion at the box office in 2024. The film was released on June 14, during which time it earned $469.3 million in North America and $545.5 million internationally, with a global total of $1.015 billion.

This data makes "Inside Out 2" the 11th animated film to join the $1 billion club (8 of which are Disney productions), and it is also the fastest animated film to achieve this achievement.

Inside Out 2 was released in theaters on June 14, and the film exceeded expectations with a North American box office of $151 million, surpassing Dune 2 ($711 million) to become the highest-grossing film of the year. It is also the first film to have a debut box office of more than $100 million since Barbie ($162 million) in July last year. Since then, Inside Out 2 has topped the box office charts for three consecutive weekends, becoming the highest-grossing film in North America and worldwide in 2024.

Inside Out 2 was a huge success in theaters, thanks to several factors, including the 2015 original's critical acclaim and excellent word-of-mouth.
