The film version of "The Three-Body Problem" will be directed by Zhang Yimou and is currently in the preparation stage

Wang Changtian, chairman of Beijing Enlight Media Co., Ltd., announced at the opening forum of the Shanghai International Film Festival that the film version of "The Three-Body Problem" jointly developed by Enlight Media and Three-Body Universe, directed by Zhang Yimou, is currently in the early preparation stage.

"The Three-Body Problem" is a series of long science fiction novels written by Liu Cixin, consisting of "The Three-Body Problem", "The Three-Body Problem 2: The Dark Forest" and "The Three-Body Problem 3: Death's End". It is considered to be the pinnacle of domestic science fiction novels. The works tell the story of the information exchange, life-and-death struggles between the human civilization of Earth and the Three-Body civilization, as well as the rise and fall of the two civilizations in the universe.
