"Black Widow" independent film releases story synopsis: Black Widow is being hunted by a mysterious force

Following the new trailer, Marvel Studios today released the official story synopsis for the Black Widow standalone film.

“In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller, BLACK WIDOW, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, faces the darkest parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with links to her past emerges. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to eradicate her, Natasha must navigate her past as a spy and the shattered relationships that define her life before she became an Avenger.”

The timeline of "Black Widow" is set after the Civil War in "Captain America 3" and before the Infinity War begins, and will also involve the story of Budapest mentioned in "Avengers".

"Black Widow" is directed by Cate Shortland and will be released in North America on May 1, 2020.
