2018's Aquaman was a huge success, grossing over $1 billion at the box office. It's no surprise that DC wants to expand the franchise, and one way to do that is with a new animated TV series. The animated series is a mini-series with three episodes, produced by "Aquaman" director James Wan, and the story will take place immediately after Aquaman becomes king in the "movie". Animation series story synopsis: When Aquaman takes the throne of his underwater kingdom for the first time, he discovers that being in charge of this world is not easy, especially with a half brother trying to take Atlantis for himself, surface humans causing problems for the seafloor, and ancient demons posing a never-ending deadly threat. The animated series will also feature Aquaman's master Vulko and Queen Mera. It is not yet clear whether Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and William Dafoe will return to voice the characters. In addition to the series, DC is also developing the movie "Aquaman 2" and a horror spin-off movie "The Trench". |
