In August of this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger officially announced plans to reboot the classic film "Home Alone" series. According to Variety, the first batch of actors has been finalized. The new version of "Home Alone" will not be a remake of the story of Kevin, the little ghost played by Macaulay Culkin in the original movie, but will create a new character under a similar premise, and this role will be played by child star Archie Yates. In the original movie, Kevin was left alone by his parents who were away on a trip, and he tricked two thieves who wanted to break into the house and steal by setting a series of traps. According to Variety, Disney has also signed Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney to star in a couple in the show, but it is also reported that the couple will not be the parents of Archie Yates' character. Interestingly, foreign media Collider previously broke the news that the outline of the new version of the movie will be about "a married couple and a little boy who stole their things." The reboot of "Home Alone" will premiere on Disney+ streaming, with Dan Mazer in talks to direct, SNL writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidel writing, and Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson serving as producers. |
