The Russo brothers commented that the smartest character in "Avengers" is neither Iron Man nor Banner

At the recent SDCC 2019 Comic-Con, the Russo brothers, directors of "Avengers 4", decided who is the smartest superhero in the "Avengers" based on fan feedback. Three candidates were nominated: "Iron Man" Tony Stark, "Hulk" Bruce Banner, and "Black Panther's sister" Shuri.

Joe Russo, one of the directors of "Avengers 4", said that the combined form of Dr. Banner and Hulk in the film is a combination of strength and wisdom, but he excluded this new form of Hulk in the next segment. Joe Russo said: "Banner wanted to solve the problem of time travel, but he failed. So who solved this problem?"

Joe Russo later nominated Tony Stark, saying that Stark perfected the Avengers' ability to travel through time and space, and shattered Thanos and his dream of dominating the universe. But then, Anthony Russo said that Wakanda Princess and inventor "Suri" was the smartest character in "Avengers". She created all the magical equipment for her brother Black Panther.

Then Joe Russo said: "Well, Shuri is the smartest character in "Avengers." And long before Stark solved the problem of time travel in "Avengers 4", "Black Panther" producer Nate Moore said that the 16-year-old Wakanda princess was able to compete with Stark, or even surpass him.

Nate Moore once said in an interview in 2017 that Shuri is the head of the Wakanda design team in terms of technology, so in his opinion, Shuri is the smartest person in the world. Nate Moore said: "She is smarter than Tony, but she is a 16-year-old girl, and we think it's really interesting."
