Keanu Reeves joins Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as the villain

Foreign media Hollywood Reporter learned from multiple sources that well-known actor Keanu Reeves will join the movie "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" and voice the popular character Shadow.

The news was revealed at Paramount Pictures' CinemaCon conference last week, where the company debuted a trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The trailer shows that Dr. Eggman, played by Jim Carrey, became depressed and out of shape after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but he recovered by creating Shadow. Shadow was first introduced in the 2001 DC game Sonic Adventure 2. The character is the opposite of Sonic in many ways: dark and edgy, while also echoing the hero's powers.

The movie "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" is expected to be released on December 20, 2024.
