Netflix's highly rated drama "Mindhunter" Season 2 is set to be released on August 16

David Fincher, director of Netflix's highly rated original series "Mindhunter," announced today that the second season will air on August 16, with eight episodes released at once.

The second season of "Mindhunter" is co-produced by David Fincher and Charlize Theron, and starring Jonathan Groff and others. The second season is set between 1979 and 1981, and the main content involves the Atlanta child murders.

"Mindhunter" is based on the 1996 book "The Mind Hunter: How the FBI Solved a Serial Crime Case" by former FBI agents John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. It tells the story of how they solved a number of major serial rape and murder cases with the help of a serial killer.

The first season of the show was directed and produced by David Fincher, with 4 episodes, starring Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv and others.
