Samuel L Jackson Joins Saw Reboot

The latest film in the Saw series, Saw 8, was released in October 2017 and received poor reviews. Lionsgate has decided to reboot the series, and the first film of the reboot is scheduled to be released in North America on October 23, 2020. Recently, Lionsgate announced the first cast of the first reboot film: Samuel Jackson, Chris Rock, Max Minghella (The Handmaid's Tale), and Marisol Nicole (Riverdale).

According to Variety, Chris Rock will play a police officer investigating a series of horrific murders in the reboot of "Saw", while Samuel L. Jackson will play the father of Rock's character, Max Minghella will play Rock's assistant, and Marisol Nicole will play the police chief.

The reboot of Saw tells the story of a serial killer named Jigsaw who entraps his victims in a maze of games, puzzles and traps while the helpless victims fight for survival.

The reboot of Saw is currently being filmed, with the story created by Chris Rock and the script written by Pete Goldfinger (Saw 8: Jigsaw) and Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D). Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed three films in the Saw series, will return to direct this time.
