According to foreign media reports, on August 22 local time, "The Big Bang Theory" issued a statement confirming that the upcoming 12th season will be the last season of the show, which will end in May 2019 and the last episode will be the 279th episode.

Warner Bros. Television, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions thanked everyone for their companionship and support over the years in a public statement. They said, "We will always be grateful to the fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory over the past 12 seasons. We and all the actors, writers and staff are very grateful for the huge success of the show and aim to create the final season to make The Big Bang Theory a perfect ending to a classic epic series."

The 12th season of "The Big Bang Theory" will return at 8 am Beijing time on September 25. Previously, producer and screenwriter Steve Holland said that the 12th season will begin with Sheldon and Amy's honeymoon trip.
