Suicide Squad 2 to start filming in March next year? Harley Quinn and Deadshot return

Although earlier reports said that in order to cater to Will Smith's busy schedule, "Suicide Squad 2" may be delayed until next fall. But according to the latest news, Warner's sequel may enter production next spring!

According to the updated list on MyEntertainmentWorld, a website that tracks the production schedule of movies and TV series, "Suicide Squad 2" will start shooting in March next year as originally planned. Last month, Warner invited Gavin O'Connor, the director of "The Accountant", to be the director and screenwriter of the film. The film company had previously considered Mel Gibson and Jaume Collet-Serra as directors.

The Suicide Squad 2, which will be released in 2019, will be the third film released by the DCEU that year. Shazam will be released on April 5, 2019, and Wonder Woman 2 is scheduled for December 13. For Marvel, their plan for 2019 is to release Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Other details about "Suicide Squad 2" are still unknown, but the current expectation is that Margot Robbie will return to play the role of Harley Quinn, Will Smith will return to play Deadshot, Jared Leto will continue to be the "Joker", and Viola Davis will still be Amanda Waller.

The first "Suicide Squad" in 2016 was directed by David Ayer. Although it received mixed reviews, it raked in $745 million worldwide. Robbie's performance as the sexy yet innocent "Harley Quinn" also received unanimous praise.
