"Train to Busan" director starts shooting new fantasy film to create a Korean superhero film

After "Train to Busan" set off a wave of movie-watching in Asia, Yeon Sang-ho returned with his new work "Psychokinesis". From animation to live-action, from horror to fantasy, Yeon Sang-ho continues to expand his scope.

"Mind Drive" has assembled a very strong cast, including Ryu Seung-ryong from "Miracle in Cell No. 7", Shim Eun-kyung from "Sunny", Park Jung-min from "Dongju", and Jung Yu-mi from "Himalaya". Both Shim Eun-kyung and Jung Yu-mi have participated in the director's previous works.

"Psychokinesis" tells the story of an ordinary person (played by Ryu Seung-ryong) who accidentally gains superpowers and uses them to help his daughter (played by Shim Eun-kyung) and the people around him.

Last May, Train to Busan premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Midnight Screening Unit, breaking box office records in many Asian countries and earning $135 million worldwide, including $2.1 million in North America. It also sparked a lot of discussion in mainland China, becoming a phenomenal film.
