Trump denies allegations he pressured director to make him guest star in Home Alone 2

Trump previously made a cameo in the 1992 classic Christmas movie "Home Alone 2," but recently there were reports that the former US president had "bullied" the production team into making a cameo. He has now responded to such claims, saying that these are rumors and he has never done anything like this.

Trump said on social media: "That couldn't be further from the truth. That cameo helped make the movie a success. If they felt oppressed, or didn't want me, why did they include me in the movie and keep me in the movie for over 30 years?"

He also said that someone actually "begged" him to appear in the film, but he was "very busy" at the time and "didn't want to appear", but the producer "insisted" so he agreed.

"Like most locations in New York City, you have to pay to shoot there," the film's director Chris Columbia previously told Business Insider. "We approached the Plaza Hotel, which was owned by Trump at the time, because we wanted to shoot in the Tang Dynasty. We couldn't rebuild the Plaza Hotel on a soundstage."

"Trump agreed. We paid for it, but he also said, 'The only way you can use the Plaza is if I'm in a movie.' So we agreed to let him be in the movie."

"But when we screened it for the first time, something strange happened: When Trump appeared on the screen, people cheered. So I said to my editor, 'Keep him in the movie. This is the audience's moment.' But he did join the movie in a bullying way."
