DC today announced the starring actors of James Gunn's new version of "Superman" movie - "Superman: Legacy": David Corenswet plays Superman and Rachel Brosnahan plays Superman's girlfriend Lois Lane. Corenswet is known for her breakout role in Netflix's The Politician, while Brosnahan stars in the series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In addition, as the co-builder of the new DC universe, Gunn, the director of "Superman: Legacy", also confirmed the news. Gunn wrote: "That's right! They are not only excellent actors, but also great people." Previously, Gunn revealed that Corenswet, Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult were all candidates for the role. "Superman: Legacy" plot synopsis: Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by the goodness of humanity in a world that sees kindness as obsolete. Earlier this year, Gunn and Safran rebooted the DC Universe, with the first chapter named "Gods and Monsters". The two developed an 8-10 year plan, with "Superman: Legacy" directed by Gunn himself taking the lead. Other announced films include "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" and "Swamp Thing". |
