The creator of The Legend of Zelda series has expressed his eagerness to see a Zelda movie or TV series in the future. In an interview with Polygon, series producer Eiji Aonuma was asked if the success of Super Mario Bros. The Movie made him excited about the prospect of a Zelda film or TV adaptation. "I have to say, I'm interested. That's for sure," Aonuma said. "But unfortunately, just because I'm interested in it, it won't make it happen." The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom Tears director Hidemaro Fujibayashi went on to add that "maybe the fans' voice is what matters the most," meaning that public support for such a project could increase the chances of it happening. According to Box Office Mojo, "Super Mario Bros.: The Movie" has now grossed $1.2 billion worldwide. |
