New movie universe opens DC movie "Superman: Legacy" begins pre-production

James Gunn, head of the DC Film Universe, announced on Twitter yesterday that pre-production of his new Superman movie "Superman: Legacy", which he is directing and writing, has begun, and work on the film's costumes, design, and other aspects has begun.

The film tells the story of Superman's reconciliation of his Kryptonian lineage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent. The role of Superman will not be played by Henry Cavill from the DCEU, but by a new actor. The casting of Superman has not yet been announced. It is scheduled to be released in North America on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned.
