Cameron's "Titanic" will be re-screened tomorrow and is criticized for cutting leeks

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of the classic movie "Titanic" in mainland China, the film will be released again in mainland China tomorrow. This is the third time that "Titanic" has met mainland moviegoers on the big screen, following its debut on April 3, 1998 and the launch of the 3D version on April 10, 2012.

It is understood that the version released this time is a 3D 4K HDR high frame rate remastered version. Director Cameron said that this version has been digitally remastered in 4K 3D and supports Dolby Atmos. Even fans who have seen this movie before will have a feeling of watching it for the first time.

After the announcement of the re-screening of "Titanic", some netizens complained about it and questioned whether it was a "cheating" strategy. However, young movie fans born after 2000 who have not watched it online will probably take this opportunity to go to the cinema to watch this classic love movie.

It is reported that in April 1998, "Titanic" met the Chinese mainland audience for the first time, setting off a wave of movie-watching across the country and finally earning a box office of 360 million yuan.

In April 2012, the film was converted into a 3D version and re-released, which earned 946 million yuan in box office from a new generation of audiences and received a 9.5-point rating from Douban Movie. At the same time, the film's global box office soared to 2.256 billion US dollars, ranking second on the global movie box office list.

As of March this year, "Titanic" has dropped to fourth place in the global box office, temporarily behind "Avatar", "Avengers 4" and "Avatar 2".
