New Snow White actress responds to controversy: I'm excited to be a Latin princess

Since Disney officially announced that the live-action version of "Snow White" will be starred by Latino actress Rachel Zegler, it has sparked controversy among many netizens.

Recently, she responded positively in an interview: "I never thought in a million years that this would be possible for me. You don't usually see a Snow White of Latin descent. Although Snow White is really important in Spanish-speaking countries. Blanca Nieves (Spanish for "Snow White") is a super idol, whether you are talking about the Disney animated version or other versions, the Grimm fairy tales and all the stories that come with it. But you don't especially see a Snow White like me, or me playing a role like that. When the starring news was announced, it became a big event on Twitter for several days because everyone was very angry."

Rachel Zegler said she was still very excited to play the role, "I get to be a Latin princess."

The live-action movie of "Snow White" is directed by Marc Webb, with Rachel Zegler playing Snow White and Gal Gadot playing the villain, the evil queen. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriters of "La La Land" and "The Greatest Showman", will create new songs for it. This live-action version is adapted from the 1937 classic animation, Disney's first animated feature film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". The queen is jealous of the princess's beauty and uses a trick to trick her into eating a poisoned apple.
