Legendary Pictures confirms Detective Pikachu 2 is still in production

In a response to Polygon, a representative for Legendary Pictures said that the Detective Pikachu 2 movie is still "actively in production."

Earlier, there was news that the screenwriter of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" movie had written the outline of the plot for "Detective Pikachu 2", but Legendary said that the person is no longer involved. In addition, the screenwriter of the first movie "Detective Pikachu" also said that he would not participate in the production of the sequel. Even the star of "Detective Pikachu", Justice Smith, once expressed his pessimistic attitude towards filming a sequel to the media.
