Today, December 13, Toho Pictures announced that the new animated film "Roger in the Attic" by Yoshiyuki Momose, the director who has directed many famous Ghibli animations, will be released in winter 2023. Stay tuned.

"Yaneura no Rudger", an animated film adapted from the fictional novel by AF Harrold and Emily Gravett, was originally scheduled to be released in Japan this summer, but has been postponed for various reasons.

The story goes that Roger is Amanda's imaginary friend. No one else can see Roger - until the evil Mr. Bunting arrives at Amanda's door. Mr. Bunting goes around looking for "imaginaries" and rumor has it he even eats them. Now he's found Roger.

Soon, Roger is alone and running for his imaginary life. He needs to find Amanda before Mr. Bunting catches him - and before Amanda forgets about him, or he disappears without a trace. But how can an imaginary boy survive alone in the real world?

The director of this film, Yoshiyuki Momose, has directed many famous Ghibli animations, including "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited Away", etc. Stay tuned.
