New stills of Avatar 2: Cameron wants to make Avatar into the Lord of the Rings

Recently, "Avatar 2" appeared on "Empire" magazine, and new stills and covers were released. In addition, director James Cameron was interviewed and revealed some behind-the-scenes stories of the film. Let's take a look!

James Cameron said that when he talked about the sequel, he told 20th Century Fox: "I don't want to shoot one after another without thinking. I want to tell a bigger story. Imagine a series of novels like "The Lord of the Rings", and we are adapting it. The ideal is beautiful, but I have to wait until I write such a novel first, and then adapt it."

Cameron said that expanding "Avatar" into such a big world - at least until "Avatar 5" - was a difficult decision, because the first one was already a success, could it really be done again? Cameron said that he was under a lot of pressure, and he thought about continuing to shoot "Avatar" for a long time... It took him two years to finally sign the contract.

The roles played by Kate Winslet, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and others were also revealed. 73-year-old Sigourney Weaver plays Jack and Neytiri's adopted daughter Chili, a character who is physically decades younger than her. The role is very challenging, but Sigourney Weaver finds it very interesting. Cameron said: "Sigourney has become younger and more energetic. During the entire motion capture period, she was immersed in the role of Chili, with a light face, light steps, and a happy mood."

Avatar 2 is directed by James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and others. The story takes place 14 years after the first film. The male and female protagonists of the previous film have settled down and formed a family. The film centers around their children. The sequel will be a story about family. The hardships that parents have to endure for the unity and safety of their family are immeasurable. The film will be released in North America on December 16.
