The domestic summer box office in 2022 exceeded 7.5 billion yuan, exceeding the same period last year

Although the domestic epidemic is still rebounding and raging, according to data provided by Lighthouse Professional Edition, as of 15:00 on August 14, the total box office of this summer season has reached 7.569 billion, surpassing last year's summer season box office of 7.381 billion.

As of now, the total number of tickets sold for this summer season has reached 195 million, with a total of 24.4701 million showtimes and an average ticket price of 38.9 yuan.

Currently, "Alone on the Moon" continues its strong performance after its release, ranking first with a box office of 2.399 billion yuan; followed by "Life Events" with a box office of 1.689 billion yuan; and the third place was taken by the Hollywood blockbuster "Jurassic World 3" with a box office of 1.059 billion yuan.

Taking the 702 million box office of the fourth-place "The Detective" as the dividing line, the box office of other films in the summer season experienced a cliff-like decline. The box office of the fifth-place "The Tomorrow War" was only 336 million, more than double the fourth place.

Compared with the same period last year, this summer there are more original-image films and the box office is healthier; but it should be noted that the average ticket price for this year's films has increased compared to last year, which may be related to the popularity of technologies such as panoramic giant screens.
