DC's Joker 2 will be released in October 2024

According to Deadline, just after Warner Bros. Discovery Channel canceled "Batgirl", Warner announced that "Joker 2: Big Psycho" will be released on October 4, 2024.

Warner Bros. pulled off a record October domestic opening in 2019 with Joker, which grossed $96.2 million. The film took in $335.4 million domestically, and globally, it is the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, at $1.07 billion.

Joker also won two Oscars: Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix) and Best Original Score (Hildur Guðnadóttir), and was nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.

The sequel is titled Joker: Folie à deux, which is a French medical term for a mental disorder that affects two or more people.

Deadline has learned that "Joker 2" will begin production in December this year.
