Baz Luhrmann, the director of "Moulin Rouge" and "The Great Gatsby", released a trailer for his new film "Elvis". The film is expected to be released in June. Movie trailer for Elvis: Luhrmann had been developing the new film since 2013, when he finished directing The Great Gatsby. The screenplay, written by Luhrmann and his old partner Craig Pearce, tells the story of Elvis' rise and heyday, with the relationship between Elvis and Parker being the focus. Parker was a Dutch-born, daring hustler who never became a U.S. citizen and earned the honorary title of "The Colonel." When he met Elvis in the mid-50s, he was a struggling music manager and was impressed by his talent (Elvis was not yet 18). Over the course of two years, he bribed all the other agents and managers in Elvis' life, established himself as the exclusive representative, and then guided Elvis onto the national stage and helped him become a figure that Americans had never seen before. It is reported that the performance of the lead actor Austin Butler in the film is amazing, and the audience who have seen the movie clips believe that "Elvis" will make him a superstar. The movie "Elvis" will be released in the United States on June 24. |
