Marvel Boss: Doctor Strange is the central figure of the MCU

In a speech honoring Benedict Cumberbatch's achievements, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige called Doctor Strange "the central figure of the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Is this a hint that Doctor Strange will eventually lead the new Avengers?

Avengers 4 changed everything. The Avengers may have defeated Thanos, but we also saw the death of some of Earth's most powerful heroes - Iron Man, Black Widow and the retirement of Captain America.

This leads to the question: who will lead the MCU after Avengers 4? At a ceremony to acknowledge Benedict Cumberbatch with his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Marvel boss Kevin Feige hinted that it could be Doctor Strange.

He said: "Benedict turned this character into an icon, appearing in three of the six most popular films of all time. It's been quite an amazing journey.

You always saw so much potential in this character. Because of that, you became the central figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the only actor who could lead us through the Multiverse of Madness."

Doctor Strange not only appears in the Avengers movie and his own solo movie, he also made cameos in other MCU movies, including Thor: Ragnarok and the recent Spider-Man 3. Considering that the MCU's multiverse has become a theme in multiple movies and series, Doctor Strange will be deeply involved in future MCU films and TV shows, perhaps more than any other superhero.
