Even if you are not a fan of "Star Wars", you must have seen the most classic lightsaber battle between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan beside the magma in "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith", as well as the classic line. Nick Gillard, a stunt coordinator who participated in the filming of "Star Wars", revealed that this was not the choice of George Lucas, but came from another director-Steven Spielberg. "I think that was a Spielberg-ism, that scene, and I probably say that too much... it was just the way George [Lucas] ended up shooting it," Girard said on the Chris & Company podcast. "I hated it, and everybody knows I hated it. We had a different version of it. We fought as hard as we could to change it, but George wouldn't agree." In this clip, Jedi Master Obi-Wan shouted to Anakin: "I have taken the high ground!" Anakin roared: "You underestimated my power!" As a result, he did a backflip and his left arm and legs were immediately cut off. He fell beside the magma and was burned beyond recognition by the high temperature. In the end, he had to rely on Darth Vader's armor to survive. However, whether it was the lightsaber battle and the high ground, Anakin's somewhat humorous flag-raising and immediate fall, and Obi-Wan's subsequent line "You were the Chosen One! Legend has it that you will destroy the Sith, not join them!", all made this clip a famous meme. The prequel trilogy has received mixed reviews among Star Wars fans, but Revenge of the Sith is generally considered the best one. Regardless, the prequel trilogy is much better than some of the current Star Wars films. |
