'Notting Hill' director Roger Michell dies at 65

Roger Michell, the director of famous films such as "Notting Hill", "Mother's Spring" and "The Last Eros", died recently at the age of 65. The family did not disclose the specific cause in the statement. Julia Roberts, the heroine of "Notting Hill", expressed her condolences, saying "he was so kind and gentle."

Roger Michell was born in South Africa in 1956, grew up in Syria and Czechoslovakia, and later settled in the UK. He is a South African director, producer and screenwriter.

On May 21, 1999, the love movie "Notting Hill" directed by him was released. The film won the British Comedy Award for Best Comedy Film and the 53rd British Academy of Film and Television Arts Audience Award.
