"The Powerpuff Girls" live-action drama Professor You cast confirmed: black male star leads

According to IGN, the live-action drama "The Powerpuff Girls" has announced a new cast: the creator of the Powerpuff Girls - "Professor Yo" will be played by black actor Donald Faison.

Donald Faison (Scrubs) joins the live-action version of the popular animation The Powerpuff Girls as Professor You. Previously, Chloë Grace Wang, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault were cast to play Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, respectively.

CW has ordered a pilot episode, which tells the story of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who were once the American mini superhero trio. They are now in their twenties, their fantasies are shattered, and they regret spending their childhood fighting crime. But now the world needs them to reunite and strike again more than ever.
