Exhibitor Relations Company, an analysis firm that provides critical information and intelligence to the entertainment industry, reports that the upcoming "Mortal Kombat" movie has been rated R. The R rating is due to the intense bloody violence, profanity, and some crude references in the film, which is not surprising for a Mortal Kombat film, though it is worth noting that both 1995's Mortal Kombat and 1997's Mortal Kombat: Annihilation were rated PG-13. The "Mortal Kombat" movie will be released in European and American theaters on April 16, and will be simultaneously available on the streaming media HBO Max. |
