"Super Robot Wars OG" animation director: I want to shoot a new work

The Super Robot Wars series will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. The series has been involved in both games and animation. Although the regular characters in the series, such as Gundam, Getter, Mazinger, Macross and EVA, have their own animation works, the mecha wars themselves also have "Original Generation" (OG) characters. Bandai Namco has designed original characters and original mechas for each work in the series, and there is also a work "Super Robot Wars OG" series that does not cooperate with regular works and is completely participated by OG characters.

Super Robot Wars OG has a unique position in the history of the series. It was first released in 2002 and has launched four mainline works so far. The latest one is Super Robot Wars OG: People of the Moon, which landed on the PS3 and PS4 platforms in 2016. In addition, this branch series has also launched a number of animation works.

Recently, Masami Obari posted on Twitter that October 2, 2020 marks the tenth anniversary of the first episode of the Super Robot Wars OG Supervisor animation. Masami Obari was the supervisor of that work, and he expressed his willingness to produce the Super Robot Wars OG animation again.

What's interesting is that Takanobu Terada said during a live broadcast in February this year that they haven't finalized the script for the new Super Robot Wars OG game. Can the two of them touch base now?

The most recent live broadcast of Super Robot Wars was in August, but no new game information was announced. Although there is no news yet, there will definitely be a new Super Robot Wars game for PS4/PS5/Switch to celebrate the 30th anniversary next year. Bandai Namco said there should be another live broadcast in October, so we will wait and see.
