According to producer Lusky, this movie talks about "the other side of Wukong", which is a side rarely mentioned in previous literary and artistic works, and is "the story world behind Journey to the West". "It took Wukong 14 years to travel to the West and become a Buddha. This concept of 14 years is said on earth; if it is put into heaven, it is 14 days, which is the time it takes for gods and Buddhas to prepare for a temple fair... These 14 years of traveling to the West are short for him, just the time it takes to have a big drink; but after going through this process, his perspective on the world and himself has changed a lot, which is also the focus of our story."

In addition to the movie, the team will also develop a 12-episode super web series, each 40 minutes long, which will share the same world view as the movie "RISE".
