The movie "SpongeBob SquarePants: SpongeBob Rescue Adventure" has been postponed again to August 7

Today (April 15), Paramount Pictures officially announced that the third SpongeBob SquarePants movie "SpongeBob SquarePants: Sponge on the Run" has been postponed again. The film was originally scheduled to be released on May 22, but was later postponed to July 31 due to the epidemic. Now it has been postponed again and will be released in North America on August 7.

"SpongeBob SquarePants: Out of Water" is directed by Tim Hill and is the sequel to the 2015 film "The Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants: Sponge Out of Water". The film tells the story of SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star going to the lost Atlantic City to rescue their beloved pet Snail after it is kidnapped.

Similar to the previous film, SpongeBob SquarePants: Out of Water uses a combination of animation and live-action, with Keanu Reeves also making a guest appearance. It is not clear why SpongeBob SquarePants: Out of Water was postponed again, but some media speculated that it was to avoid the release of Mulan, which was postponed to July 24. Considering that the previous film, The Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants: Sponge Out of Water, was introduced to mainland China for release, the possibility of SpongeBob SquarePants: Out of Water being released in mainland China is still very high.

Another Paramount film, "Infinity," has also had its North American release date postponed from August 7, 2020 to May 28, 2021.
