Mission: Impossible 7 may be filmed in the UK

On the 25th of last month, there was news that due to the outbreak in Italy, the filming of Mission: Impossible 7 starring Tom Cruise was forced to be suspended. However, according to British media reports, the crew plans to move to the UK to film the scenes originally scheduled to take place in Italy.

It is reported that the crew of Mission: Impossible 7 has moved to the UK and will replicate an Italian city in a studio in Surrey, which is very close to London. The Longcross Studios in Surrey will restore the landscapes originally planned to be filmed in Italy, including the famous Spanish Steps in Rome. The crew said that although it is expensive to rebuild the exterior scenes, the loss caused by stopping the entire crew is greater, so they chose to continue filming in the UK.

A source familiar with the matter revealed: "With hundreds of crew members and big stars including Tom Cruise on standby waiting for the reboot, it's unrealistic to postpone it indefinitely. But needless to say, no one is going to risk sending a large crew back to Italy right now or for the foreseeable future, so they have to come up with a contingency plan to keep things moving forward. It's going to cost a fortune, but it's a lot cheaper than keeping everyone waiting for months, and it might just save the film."

Prior to this, Paramount Pictures had said that in response to the new coronavirus, Mission: Impossible 7 would adjust its three-week filming schedule in Venice. However, due to the recent "herd immunity" epidemic prevention policy proposed by the UK, the prospects for filming are not optimistic.

"Mission: Impossible 7" is scheduled to be released in North America on July 23, 2021.
