iQIYI updates interactive plot of "Love Apartment 5" with audience choosing plot direction

Last May, iQIYI released the world's first interactive video standard (Interactive Video Guideline, IVG for short), and showed the trailer of "His Smile", the first interactive film and television work in China produced based on the interactive video standard. Now, the 13th episode of iQIYI's hit drama "Love Apartment 5" also uses the interactive plot method, and the audience can choose the plot direction by themselves.

In the 13th episode "Danmu Space", the protagonists of Love Apartment 5 found a strange box. After pressing the button on the box, they entered the "Danmu Space", and netizens' Danmu appeared around them. At 6 minutes and 20 seconds in episode 13, the first interactive plot appeared, and the audience will be able to choose "Tell them the truth" or "Play a little trick" to control the direction of the next plot. There will be a short countdown time when the interactive plot is triggered. If you do not choose after the time limit, the first plot option will be selected by default. In addition, in order to avoid "mixed in" Danmu, iQiyi also cancelled the Danmu function of this episode.

As for the specific principle of interactive plot, it should be that the director pre-records videos with different endings, and then jumps to different video clips according to different choices of users. iQiyi has previously stated that iQiyi App 10.4.0 already supports interactive video capabilities, and interactive videos produced by creators based on interactive video standards can be broadcast in the iQiyi App.
