A great cast! The movie "Children of the Sea" is scheduled to be released in mainland China on February 14

The movie "Children of the Sea", adapted from the popular manga "Children of the Sea" by Daisuke Igarashi, is scheduled to be released in mainland China on February 14, 2020. The movie version is directed by director Watanabe Ayumu, with music by Joe Hisaishi, and the theme song sung by Kenshi Yonezu. A luxurious voice cast including Mana Ashida, Yosai Ishibashi, Seishu Urakami, On Morisaki, Goro Inagi, and Yu Aoi will join in.

The film tells the story of the protagonist Riuka, an ordinary girl with a slightly irritable temper. Her parents both work in an aquarium. When she was young, she saw a school of luminous fish in the aquarium and had a deep memory of it.

Because of her temper, Rika was expelled from the sports club she joined during her second summer vacation in middle school. Bored, she met two mysterious foreign boys, "Hai" and "Sora", at the aquarium where her father worked. They were said to be raised by dugongs, could survive in the sea for a long time, and could not leave the water for too long. This marked the beginning of what she later called "the longest summer vacation".
