DTF reported today (May 9) that Peacock Streaming has ordered a new series in the universe of the classic American TV series "The Office". According to the description, the series is not called a reboot or spin-off. It will be a story about the same group of documentary directors looking for new materials. The screenwriters began writing the script for the series in January 2024, and the start date of shooting has not yet been announced. This time, they track the employees of a failing Midwestern daily news company as the publisher tries to save the company by recruiting volunteer journalists. The show's producers include Greg Daniels, the author of the American version of "The Office", and Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant of the original British series. According to previous reports, the cast of the show includes Domhnall Gleeson ("Star Wars" sequel trilogy) and Sabrina Impaccioto ("White Lotus"). |
