Daniel Craig quits as 007

Daniel Craig recently confirmed in an interview in Germany that "No Time to Die" will be his last time playing James Bond. He said: "Yes, it's over. Someone else will take over this role in the future." His new film "No Time to Die" will be released in the United States on April 8, 2020.

When asked if he had ever considered stepping back and becoming a director, Daniel said, "For God's sake, forget it! I just want to go home and have a good meal and a good sleep. If I become a director, I still have to discuss with the producer and the screenwriter in the middle of the night, and then I have to sleep for two hours and then go to the set again, so forget it!"

Daniel Craig started playing Agent 007 in Casino Royale in 2006, and then starred in three other 007 films, Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015). Under his leadership, the 007 series swept the global box office again and again - Spectre took in $880 million in global box office, and Skyfall took in more than $1.1 billion.

But he seems to be tired of this role. After filming the 2015 007 movie, when asked whether he would continue to join the next 007 movie, Craig responded: "Now? Then I would rather break this glass and cut my wrist. At least at this moment I don't want to act anymore. I really have had enough, enough!"
