CBS to launch modern drama series "Watson Postscript" with black actor playing Watson

CBS will launch a modern new scripted collection of the "Holmes and Watson" story, "Watson's Postscript", with Morris Chestnut as Watson, and Craig Sweeny, the writer and executive producer of "Elementary", as the show's operator and first episode writer. The story of "Watson's Postscript" takes place one year after his friend and partner Sherlock Holmes died at the hands of Moriarty. John Watson resumed his medical career and became the head of a clinic specializing in rare diseases.

But Watson's past life is not over, and Moriarty and Watson will write their own chapters in this story that has attracted readers and audiences for more than a century. This is a medical drama with a strong investigative spirit, starring a modern version of one of the greatest detectives in history, Watson, who turns his attention from solving crimes to tackling the biggest problem: disease and the way it disrupts our lives. "The show has been directly booked for a full season and is scheduled to be launched in the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
