"Octagon Cage" cumulative box office exceeds 2 billion, Wang Baoqiang advises keyboard warriors to be kind

According to data from Maoyan Professional Edition, the movie "Octagon Cage" was released for 24 days and the total box office exceeded 2 billion, becoming the 31st movie in Chinese film history to exceed 2 billion box office.

At 11:00 on July 29, the total box office (including pre-sales) of the 2023 summer season exceeded 12 billion, with "She's Gone", "The Octagonal Cage" and "30,000 Miles from Chang'an" ranking the top three in the summer box office.

Previously, Wang Baoqiang, the director and lead actor of Octagon Cage, admitted that when he was filming, "I gave close-ups when they should be given, and didn't show the back or the face when they shouldn't be shown." By using this technique of showing the multifaceted human nature with the "back", Wang Baoqiang hopes to show the horror of cyberbullying.

"Octagon Cage" is a film directed by Wang Baoqiang, written by Qiqi and Wang Baoqiang, directed by Wang Baoqiang, starring Wang Baoqiang, Chen Yongsheng, Shi Pengyuan, starring Wang Xun, Zhang Yitong, Ma Hu, Zhou Debowen, and with special guest appearances by Xiao Yang and Li Chen. It will be released in mainland China on July 6, 2023.

The film is adapted from real events and tells the story of Xiang Tenghui leading a group of children to break through the siege of fate and explore a way out in life.
